Celebrating the Lunar New year By BING-Hua
Spring Festival is a village I can never go around when I step into a new lunar year. The streets decorated with lanterns and colored hangings in my childhood memory have changes in my dreams and more unfamiliar have become my childhood buddies who watched fireworks together with me
In dreams I'm all the time in a hurry to set out on my return journey but invariably late for the flight. The anxiety that wakes me up every time only finds I'm saddened with new melancholy. Wandering far away from hometown is just like being banished No one cares about my homesickness since I live with a solar calendar on which Lunar New year's eve and Lunar New Year's Day aren't marked.
How I wish I could turn into a pair of couplets Pasted on the gate of my hometown!
How I wish I could turn into a new year painting Pasted on a wall of it!
How I wish I could cast away everything So long as I can make dumplings with my mother And burn firecrackers with my younger brother!
Spring Festivals Lighten my homesickness so leave my tears behind with you here And let my homesickness go back home to celebrate this new year, please!
